New Hampshire taxpayers once again are being forced to give more than half a million dollars to the abortion business Planned Parenthood.

The Union Leader reports the New Hampshire Executive Council approved a two-year contract Wednesday to give $548,000 to Planned Parenthood. The vote was 3-2, with pro-life Republicans voting against the funding.

The taxpayer funds are supposed to be used for contraception, pregnancy testing, infertility services, cancer screening and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases, according to the report. But Republicans opposed the contract, arguing that money is fungible and taxpayer dollars will be used to subsidize abortions.

In 2015, the New Hampshire Executive Committee did vote to cancel the contract and defund Planned Parenthood after undercover videos by the Center for Medical Progress exposed its aborted baby body parts trade. However, the council resumed funding in 2016 after a Republican legislator flip-flopped on the issue.

Here’s more from the report:

“Services provided under this agreement follow all federal and state regulations,” according to the request for approval submitted by Lisa Morris, director of the Division of Public Health Services in DHHS. “No abortion services are provided through these agreements.”

Councilor David Wheeler, R-Milford, a vocal abortion opponent, voted against all 10 contracts because he believes the agencies do provide what he considers abortion services through medication like “the morning after pill,” and by referring clients to abortion providers.

Councilor Joe Kenney, R-Union, voted against contracts with the Equality Health Center in Concord, the Joan G. Lovering Health Center in Greenland and Planned Parenthood of New England because, he said, “I was informed they provide abortion services.”

State lawmakers also tried to defund the abortion chain in 2011; however, the pro-abortion Obama administration thwarted the effort.

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in the U.S., performing about 320,000 abortions a year. It currently receives about half a billion taxpayer dollars every year, despite numerous scandals involving potentially illegal sales of aborted babies’ body parts, Medicaid fraud and failures to report sexual abuse of minors.

In total, Planned Parenthood receives about half a billion taxpayer dollars from the government each year. Meanwhile, the real, non-abortion health care services that it provides have been declining.
