One of our pro-life representatives did some investigating into the relationship between the Oregon Health Plan and Planned Parenthood. What Rep. Bill Post found wasn’t good. I’ve summarized it below but the full details are available at www.ortl.org.
Fact 1: The Oregon Health Plan [OHP] spent $20.04 million on Planned Parenthood, up from $11.2 million in the previous biennium.
Fact 2: Planned Parenthood’s market share of state-funded abortions increased 16.31%.
Almost two-thirds of all state-funded abortions happen at Planned Parenthood.
Fact 3: In the 2015-17 biennium, OHP spent nearly half a million tax dollars more on abortions at Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood’s position as the state’s (and nation’s) largest provider of abortion is made possible by Oregon’s politicians.
If this is as upsetting you as it is to me, there are many ways to fight back. Believe it or not just showing up is one of the most powerful. Please mark your calendar now to be in Portland on January 14, 2018 at 2:30 pm for our annual Roe v. Wade Memorial and March. (If you’re on Facebook, add it your calendar here.)
We’ll be back in the heart of downtown at Pioneer Courthouse Square. It is so important that we peaceably fill the square and send a stronger, louder message than ever before. Because everyone deserves an advocate.
