Accused Rapist Harvey Weinstein: “Fight for Planned Parenthood and Protect Women’s Rights”

Pro-abortion feminists seem to conveniently ignore how some of the biggest donors to the abortion industry are old, powerful white men.

George Soros, Warren Buffet, Bill Gates are just a few who have donated millions to Planned Parenthood and other pro-abortion causes.

Hollywood mogul and accused rapist Harvey Weinstein – surprise, surprise – is another. The top-name film producer has been a big supporter of the abortion chain Planned Parenthood for years.

Back in 2012, he hosted an expensive fundraising banquet featuring pro-abortion President Barack Obama at Weinstein’s waterfront home in Connecticut, the Hartford Courant reports.

Weinstein, known for movies such as “Pulp Fiction,” “Shakespeare in Love,” “The English Patient” and “The King’s Speech,” welcomed top-name stars at $36,000 a seat, according to the report.

During his introduction of Obama, Weinstein name-dropped Planned Parenthood and spoke of his support for “women’s rights.” At the time, Obama was facing Republican challenger Mitt Romney for a second term.

“Leading with your heart is the utmost for this president,” Weinstein said in his introduction. “Fighting for Planned Parenthood and protecting women’s rights, this president has fought the good fight.”

The Courant pointed out: “Weinstein’s comments that night about ‘protecting women’s rights’ provide a sharp contrast to the widespread allegations of sexual harassment that have been levied against him in recent days by multiple actresses.”

Weinstein’s support of the abortion business continued. In the spring of this year, Planned Parenthood received a major donation from Weinstein during its 100th anniversary gala. He paid $100,000 for a piece during the gala benefit art auction, according to ArtNet News.

Another recipient of Weinstein’s money is Emily’s List, which supports pro-abortion women’s election campaigns.

The Daily Wire’s Emily Zanotti reports the Democratic National Committee, hoping to distance itself from Weinstein and the sexual abuse allegations, plans to “redirect” the $30,000 it received from Weinstein to several groups including Emily’s List.

Zanotti responded:

EMILY’s List says they’ll gladly accept the money, even though it comes straight from a man who is, by all accounts, an unabashed sexual abuser, who used a position of power to exert influence over powerless women — the very definition of “Patriarchy” that EMILY’s List’s feminist allies say exists only among the right-of-center.

Yep, that’s right: feminists will take a decidedly anti-feminist man’s money. It all spends the same, they say. So much for “fighting for women.”

While none of the accusations against Weinstein involve abortion, sexual abuse and abortion frequently are connected. Legalized abortion provides a convenient way for sexual abusers to cover up their crimes, and abortion clinics have been caught agreeing to help cover up sexual abuse.

A 2014 study published in PLOS Medicine found that 25 percent of women who had abortions faced some sort of abuse beforehand, either physical, sexual or emotional. Other studies found that as many as 60 percent of women who had abortions felt pressured by a partner or parent to do so.

The early feminists opposed abortion, in part, because they thought it would lead to more exploitation and abuse of women. Now, after more than 40 years of legalized abortion in America, there is strong evidence that powerful, manipulative men are the ones who are backing the push to kill unborn babies.
