An Oklahoma pastor is running for governor with the goal of protecting unborn babies from abortion.

Dan Fisher, a former state representative and pastor of Liberty Church of Yukon, said he will do everything in his power to “bring this evil” of abortion to an end in Oklahoma, according to The Christian Post.

“I will disregard any unjust rulings or perversions of the U.S. Constitution that claim there is a right to murder preborn human beings in the womb,” Fisher promised in a campaign video on YouTube last week.

Fisher said he wants to end abortion, not just limit it. And he said he will ignore the U.S. Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade on abortion, much the way some cities are ignoring federal laws regarding immigration.

“Presently numerous states across our Union are ignoring various federal laws and Washington, D.C. doesn’t seem to be all that concerned about that,” Fisher said.

He continued: “When the courts are wrong, they should be ignored. We ignored them in the mid-1800s when they said that a black person was just personal property — and we should have. They were wrong. The courts are often wrong. They’re wrong now. They are not God.”

Fisher said the government’s duty is to protect the innocent, but it has abandoned those duties by embracing abortion.

“It’s time to move beyond pro-life politics,” Fisher said. “It’s time to abolish human abortion and turn Oklahoma into the first abortion-free state. As governor of Oklahoma, I will do everything within my power to end the murder of the preborn in our state.”
