Abortionist Raegan McDonald-Mosley said her devout Christian parents inspired her to pursue her career as the chief medical officer of Planned Parenthood.
The abortion chain leader spoke with Self this week about the Planned Parenthood’s sex education programs and her reasons for working at the No. 1 abortion business in the United States.
McDonald-Mosley did not talk about abortion at all, though killing unborn babies is a primary part of Planned Parenthood’s work. She primarily talked about sex education and her upbringing in a large, Christian family in rural Massachusetts.
“I grew up in a very religious environment, but my parents did have open conversations with us about sex,” McDonald-Mosley said. “My mother was a young teen mother—she had her first child when she was only 15. And I think it was very important for her to make sure that we had all of the knowledge and information available to us to make decisions to prevent pregnancy until we were ready to have a family.”
Her parents encouraged open communication about sex. When she was in high school, she said they talked with her in detail about sex, masturbation, risks, responsibility and relationships.
“Although I was devastated in the moment, I’m very grateful that we had such a meaningful conversation,” she said.

Self: Are there any other experiences you had that shaped your ideas about sex?
McDonald-Mosley: I spent a semester in Paris with an exchange program in high school. The family I stayed with had a little apartment that their two daughters would go to on the weekends when they went out dancing. They had a huge bowl of condoms on the table in this studio apartment. I was dumbfounded. Although I had progressive parents who had conversations with me, they never left a big bowl of condoms on the kitchen table at my house. That showed me at a very young age that sex education is dealt with very differently in different cultures and contexts. Seeing that at a young age was really impactful in my formative years. It encouraged me to push the envelope with my friends and my community and hopefully with my kids when they get there.
McDonald-Mosley did not mention if her parents ever talked with her about abortion. Though not a solely religious issue, many people do oppose abortion based on the Judaeo-Christian teachings that all human lives are valuable because they are created in God’s image.
And despite her Christian upbringing, McDonald-Mosley is an abortionist. Last year, a Maryland Planned Parenthood where she performs abortions sent a patient to the hospital likely due to a botched abortion. It also was cited during its only inspection in 2013 for failure to ensure that surgical equipment was properly sterilized.

Last year, during a day that Planned Parenthood set aside to celebrate abortionists, McDonald-Mosley described why she thinks her work killing unborn babies is so important: “I provide abortions because I have seen firsthand the devastating consequences for people who do not have access to safe, legal abortion by trained providers.”
But even leaving out Planned Parenthood’s life-destroying abortion work, its sex education programs also are troubling. The abortion chain teaches sex education in public schools across the country, and promotes risky sexual behavior to vulnerable young teens at its clinics.
In 2014, Live Action released an undercover video series showing Planned Parenthood employees encouraging young teens to participate in sado-masochistic sexual activities, including gagging, whipping, asphyxiation, shopping at sex stores and viewing pornography.
LifeNews also reported Planned Parenthood’s booklet for HIV-positive youth, “Healthy, Happy and Hot,” tells young people that it is their “human right” to not tell their partner that they have HIV.
The abortion giant also publishes multiple “resources” for children and teenagers concerning sexual activity. These materials claim to provide “age appropriate” sex education to children starting at age 4.
Planned Parenthood justifies starting sex-education at such a young age by stating, “Ideally, medical accurate sexuality education would be taught each year in our schools from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade.”
