The Planned Parenthood abortion chain has become a master of the deceptive half-truth.
Its leaders and staff like talking about “facts,” but they often use snippets of truth to disguise the more important facts about their abortion business. Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards employed this technique over the weekend on Twitter.
Richards has been tweeting a series of “facts” to support the abortion chain as it fights against elected officials’ work to defund it of nearly half a billion taxpayer dollars. On Friday, she highlighted the number of patients who visit Planned Parenthood every day.
“Fact: Every day Planned Parenthood’s doors stay open, another 8,118 people get health care,” Richards wrote.

The post backfired as people quickly began calling out the half-truth. Richards conveniently left out the hundreds of thousands of patients whose lives Planned Parenthood destroys every year in abortions.

Planned Parenthood does more abortions than any other group in the United States. In 2015, it performed 328,348 abortions on unborn babies, nearly 5,000 more than the previous year.
If Planned Parenthood is open about 305 days a year (minus Sundays and major holidays), that means it aborts about 1,077 unborn babies every day on average.

Pro-life legislators who are working to defund Planned Parenthood have a plan to ensure women have access to quality health care. In their plan, the tax dollars that used to go to Planned Parenthood will be redirected to community health centers. These federally qualified health clinics outnumber Planned Parenthoods by more than 20 to one, provide much more comprehensive care including contraception and prenatal care, and do not do abortions.
The abortion chain’s patient numbers and non-abortion services are down, meanwhile its abortion numbers and taxpayer funding are up. Americans deserve to know these facts, because nearly half a billion of their tax dollars are going to support the abortion chain each year.
