When is a pro-life Democrat not really a pro-life Democrat? When it’s Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia — who was caught holding a sign stating “I Stand With Planned Parenthood” along with an abortion activist.
While Manchin claims to be pro-life, a Planned Parenthood abortion business Twitter account tweeted out a picture of him holding a sign supporting the abortion company.

Leading pro-life Advocates were quick to condemn Manchin for saying he stands with the abortion Corporation.
“Sen. Manchin used to call himself pro-life, but this is the last straw,” said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser, adding that her organization “will work tirelessly in the months ahead to make sure West Virginians know of this profound betrayal of the unborn and their mothers.”
The national director of Priests for Life, Father Frank Pavone, also reacted, telling Breitbart News: “Would that Sen. Manchin spoke plainly about what ‘standing by Planned Parenthood’ means! Instead of following the bad example of his Democratic colleagues, who want to support abortion without talking about abortion, Sen. Manchin should stay on the pro-life path and tell his constituents what Planned Parenthood actually does and doesn’t do.”
But more important than holding a sign, Senator Manchin has voted at odds with his purported pro-life use. He recently voted against a measure that would overturn President Barack Obama’s parting gift to Planned Parenthood that prevented States from defunding the abortion company.
Although the senator claims to be pro-life, his voting record leaves much to be desired. According to National Right to Life, Manchin has just a 33% pro-life voting record this session.
