Two Pennsylvania college students who were penalized for vandalizing pro-Trump signs have set up a fundraiser to help pay their fines and donate to the abortion chain Planned Parenthood.

Breitbart reports Penn State University students Hanna DeMarte and Trystyn Murphy were fined $362 each for criminal mischief after they destroyed the pro-Trump signs during a rally on campus.

The two recently set up an online fundraiser asking people to donate $724 to pay their fines plus another $726 to donate to Planned Parenthood in the name of the student who reported them to the police.

That student is Dmitri A. Loutsik, a Trump supporter who made signs for the rally, according to the report. He said he reported DeMarte and Murphy to the police after they ripped up the signs. Someone caught them in the act on camera and posted the video on social media; the post went viral.

“Then fast forward a couple of weeks, and I get my friend texting me telling me that the two people I reported got fined, and are asking people to donate money to Planned Parenthood in my name,” Loutsik told Breitbart.

Loutsik said he was puzzled about why they chose Planned Parenthood as their cause.

“I honestly think they just imagine me as some sort of strawman Republican who is the epitome of every stereotype they have,” he told Campus Reform. “I’ve never spoken publicly about the issue of abortion.”

DeMarte and Murphy may have taken the idea from pro-abortion celebrities and others who have been donating to the abortion chain in Vice President-elect Mike Pence’s name. Pence has a strong pro-life record as the governor of Indiana and a former U.S. Congressman, and he vowed to continue to fight for unborn babies in the White House.

President-elect Donald Trump also said he will sign a bill to defund the abortion business as long as it continues doing abortions.

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in the U.S., performing about 320,000 abortions a year. It currently receives about half a billion taxpayer dollars every year, despite numerous scandals involving potentially illegal sales of aborted babies’ body parts, possible Medicaid fraud and failures to report sexual abuse of minors. The tax money Planned Parenthood receives is not supposed to be used for abortions, but evidence indicates that some of its abortion facilities are.
