Abortion Advocates Donating to Planned Parenthood in Mike Pence’s Name to Shame His Pro-Life Views

There’s nothing like a big loss to get your supporters to donate.

Planned Parenthood suffered a major defeat in the Nov. 8 election. It spent approximately $30 million to back pro-abortion Democrat Hillary Clinton for president and other pro-abortion candidates. Because so many of their pro-abortion candidates lost, there is a very real possibility that the abortion chain could lose its taxpayer funding.

In light of the looming threat, Planned Parenthod’s supporters are making a big deal out of donating and encouraging others to do the same. Some specifically are donating to Planned Parenthood in Vice President-elect Mike Pence’s name in an attempt to shame his pro-life stance. Pence is a strong pro-life advocate who has spent years working to defund the abortion giant and protect unborn babies both in Congress and as governor of Indiana.

People reports more about the trend:

The idea is going viral on social media, with women and men pledging their support. And celebrities from Amy Schumer to Amber Tamblyn to Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino posted about donating in Pence’s name.

“You should donate no matter what but omg this is genius,” Cosentino wrote, along with a photo of Pence’s address in Indiana.

“Done and done,” Schumer added.

When the abortion activists donate to Planned Parenthood “in honor of” Pence, they can check a box to send his office a certificate to thank him for the donation. A Planned Parenthood spokesperson confirmed to US Magazine that they have received a lot of donations since Pence and President-elect Donald Trump won the election.

“Thank you so much! We’ve been blown away by the support we’ve received. Many people are donating in Clinton or Pence’s name. #WeWontGoBack,” the abortion group posted on Twitter.

While Trump is a recent convert to the pro-life issue, Pence has been a long-time champion for the rights of unborn babies. Earlier this year, Pence signed into law an Indiana bill to ban abortions based solely on an unborn baby’s disability, sex or race. As governor of Indiana, he also supported life-affirming pregnancy and parenting resources for women and babies.

In October, Pence told students at Liberty University in Virginia that he and Trump will work to defund Planned Parenthood.

“… Donald Trump and I believe that the largest abortion provider in America should not be the largest recipient of federal funding under Title 10. A Trump-Pence administration will defund Planned Parenthood and redirect those dollars to women’s health care that doesn’t provide abortion services,” Pence told the students.

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in the U.S., performing about 320,000 abortions a year. It currently receives about half a billion taxpayer dollars every year, despite numerous scandals involving potentially illegal sales of aborted babies’ body parts, possible Medicaid fraud and failures to report sexual abuse of minors. The tax money Planned Parenthood receives is not supposed to be used for abortions, but evidence indicates that some of its abortion facilities are.
