National Right to Life is pleased to announce its endorsement of Speaker Paul Ryan (R) for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Paul Ryan has been a faithful supporter of life as a member of Congress,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “Speaker Ryan used his leadership position in a strong effort to defund Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider.”
During his tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives, Speaker Ryan has been an outstanding advocate for the pro-life cause, and has maintained a perfect 100 percent pro-life voting record.
During the current Congress, Ryan voted for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. He also voted repeatedly to block federal funding of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider.
He voted for the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, a bill that would establish a permanent, government-wide policy against funding for abortions or health plans that cover abortions. This policy would have applied both to longstanding federal programs and to the new programs created by Obamacare.

Speaker Ryan also voted to repeal the Obama healthcare law – a law that created a national program of massive federal subsidies for insurance plans that cover abortion, and imposes rationing of lifesaving medical care.
“All voters who are concerned with the right to life and with the protection of the most vulnerable members of the human family should vote to return Paul Ryan to Congress, so that he can continue his important work to advance vital pro-life public policies,” said Tobias. “Paul Ryan is a true pro-life leader.”
Involved in every election since Ronald Reagan’s election to the presidency, National Right to Life Political Action Committee (NRL PAC) was formed in 1979 as the political arm of National Right to Life. Founded in 1968, National Right to Life, the federation of 50 state right-to-life affiliates and more than 3,000 local chapters, is the nation’s oldest and largest grassroots pro-life organization.
