The mudslinging continues in the presidential race this week as Republicans and Democrats attack opposing party candidates in childish and demeaning ways.

Earlier this week, the mainstream media and pro-abortion groups slammed Donald Trump after he joked about a crying baby at his campaign rally.

Now, Hillary Clinton supporters are in uproar after an Iowa city parade float showed a Clinton lookalike in an orange jumpsuit behind bars and invited children to throw water balloons at her. The float also had a sign that read “Hillary for prison.”

The controversial float appeared on Saturday during the Arcadia Fire Department’s 100th anniversary celebration in Iowa, the Omaha World-Herald reports. The float was a project of three friends, according to the report.

“Only one group booed us,” Kyle Julin, one of the float creators told the Daily Times Herald. “My consensus from that was 99 percent to 1 percent liked it.”

Here’s more from the local news:

Another woman, who wished to remain anonymous for fear of repercussions at work, said the whole thing just made her feel sad.

“I’m glad my grandkids weren’t there to see it,” she said. “Here we have what could be the first woman president in our history — and to treat her like that — I thought was disrespectful to her and disrespectful to women.”

Craig Williams, chairman of the Carroll County Republicans, said his organization had nothing to do with the float, but did promote photos of it on FaceBook.

“I probably wouldn’t have done that myself, but I can certainly understand some frustrations from people over all the illegal things (Clinton) has done,” Williams said. “I don’t feel it was offensive to women. It could have been anybody in there anyone who got away with what she did.”

Many believe that the float was in bad taste. Perhaps a better approach would have been to educate people about Clinton’s actual policies on abortion, which are leaving a bad taste in many voters’ mouths.

Clinton has said in various interviews that an unborn child just hours before birth has no Constitutional rights. In February, Clinton defended the gruesome partial-birth abortion procedure. She also said she wants to overturn the Hyde Amendment and force taxpayers to pay for abortions, including late-term abortions.

Clinton supporters are demanding that their candidate be treated with respect and dignity. Sadly, Clinton does not believe those values should be extended to every human being.
