National Right to Life, the federation of state right-to-life organizations, today announced its endorsement of Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) for re-election to the United States Senate.

“With a 100 percent pro-life voting record, Marco Rubio has been a strong and outspoken leader for the right-to-life movement in the United States Senate,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life.

In a letter to Rubio announcing their endorsement, National Right to Life leaders commended him for his 100 percent pro-life voting record. National Right to Life also noted that Rubio “cosponsored and voted to advance the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (S. 1553) – groundbreaking legislation to protect unborn children at 20 weeks, a point by which the unborn child is capable of experiencing great pain when being killed by dismemberment or other late abortion methods.”

The letter also notes that Rubio “cosponsored the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, legislation to require that a baby born alive during an abortion be afforded the same degree of care that would apply to any other child born alive at the same gestational age.”
