Planned Parenthood Workers Admit: We Lied to Women About the Development of Their Babies

Planned Parenthood is an abortion business that does one-third of all abortions in the United States.

The destruction of innocent unborn babies’ lives is big business for Planned Parenthood, and new evidence shows that clinic workers steer women toward abortion by misleading and even lying to them, Live Action News reported in a new investigative series.

Planned Parenthood has always refrained from educating the mother on the effects of the abortion, and abortion facilities especially avoid anything that would reveal the humanity of the child.

From a survey of women who had abortions at Planned Parenthood, 95 percent stated that the company’s counselor provided them with “little or no biological information about the fetus which the abortion would destroy,” according to the report.

In an article from the Washington Examiner, former Planned Parenthood worker Catherine Anthony Adair explained why the company dehumanizes the baby:

Planned Parenthood’s mission is to pressure as many women into having an abortion as it can. Those in charge know that can’t be accomplished if they refer to the child as a “baby.”

Then women would know what was really growing inside them: a little person with a beating heart, functioning nervous system, tiny hands and feet. The child is entirely disregarded. There is no counseling, no care, no waiting and no discussion. Once a pregnancy is confirmed, it is off to termination.

Formerly a member of the New York City Planned Parenthood board, La Verne Tolbert also admitted that they are biased in their abortion counseling. Tolbert said their staff refer to the unborn baby as a “wart, cyst or tissue” and hide the emotional and physical risks of abortion from women.

Planned Parenthood claims to offer pregnant women “options” counseling, but its own numbers reveal how it steers women toward abortion. According to Planned Parenthood’s 2013-2014 annual report, for every one adoption referral, they performed about 175 abortions. Few provide prenatal care or parenting support, but every Planned Parenthood affiliate is required to do abortions. The abortion business also claims to be concerned for women’s health, but its annual reports show that its actual health care services are dropping drastically while its abortion numbers remain steady.

Other evidence comes from women who share stories of their experiences at abortion clinics. Live Action’s investigation found numerous stories from former Planned Parenthood patients that the organization Silent No More published.

One was from Susan from New Jersey who had an abortion at Planned Parenthood:

There was absolutely no counseling about the possible emotional aftermath of having an abortion. I became suicidal and had no one to turn to. And to find out that what I was aborting was not a “blob” of tissue, but an identifiably human form, complete with heartbeat, fingers and toes. Planned Parenthood was woefully wrong to lie and not offer any post-abortion counseling.

Kristyn from Colorado also shared her experience at a Planned Parenthood:

[There was] no counseling at all, except to push abortion. No ultrasound or heart beat monitor. Told it was like scraping your arm…losing a few skin cells. Afterward, it was a mess. Like a battlefield hospital, cots stretched throughout the room,” here are your pills, it’s time to leave.” No warning of the intense feelings of guilt and shame, the inability to forgive, the propensity to drink or behave in a high risk manner, the emotions over seeing babies in commercials or in strollers or pregnant women. No warning. No post counseling. And yes. It was a Planned Parenthood.

A third Planned Parenthood patient named Linda also shared her story, describing how “the sounds of the vacuum haunt me in the quiet of the night.” She said her abortion was “horrible” and painful, and the counselors lied to her, saying her baby was nothing more than a blob of cells.

Sadly, these testimonials are only the beginning of the numerous ways Planned Parenthood has misled and mistreated women. These stories are more evidence of the profit-driven motives of the abortion industry. The countless stories, the reports and the testimonies from its own staff are adding to the pile of the evidence showing Planned Parenthood’s negligence regarding their patients’ health and wellbeing.
