A leading pro-life women’s group has hailed Ted Cruz’s decision to name pro-life businesswoman Carly Fiorina as his vice-presidential running mate. The Susan B. Anthony List says Fiorina will take on Hillary Clinton’s abortion agenda if she becomes the vice-presidential nominee should Cruz secure the Republican nomination.
“Carly Fiorina would have been a great presidential candidate. Barring that, she is the ideal choice for a Vice Presidential candidate. She will take Hillary Clinton head on,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of Susan B. Anthony List. “Carly is ideally suited to challenge Hillary Clinton’s entire platform, especially issues related to women”
“Hillary has claimed the ‘women’s advocate’ mantle, without offering any compelling fresh perspective. Carly on the other hand, has challenged and bested the entrenched feminist politicos who purport to advance women’s rights even as they advance the usurpation of the rights of children,” Dannenfelser said.
Earlier this month, Dannenfelser published an op-ed at The Blaze entitled Carly Fiorina Is The Only Choice for Vice President. Seh wrote:
In her own presidential campaign, Fiorina emerged as a smart and tough leader with an impressive command of the issues. She demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of foreign and domestic policy that was firmly rooted in principle, and her classy campaign earned the respect of her supporters and opponents alike. The party and the nation would have been fortunate to have someone of her experience and character as our standard bearer. But even though her campaign ended, her service to the nation has only begun.
n a year in which Democrats will do everything in their power to resurrect the fallacious idea of a Republican “war on women,” Carly Fiorina is uniquely qualified to refute it. Who could forget her passionate defense of the unborn against the barbarities of Planned Parenthood? With clarity and courage she laid bare the horrors that masquerade as “women’s rights.” She stands in stark contrast to the vapid platitudes offered by Hillary Clinton in favor of abortion-on-demand up until the moment of birth.
The idea of Cruz announcing a running mate has been around for awhile and its a potential idea that could bolster Cruz with Republican voters wanting to coalesce around a candidate in anticipation for a brutal battle against pro-abortion Hillary Clinton. Earlier this week, Cruz and Kasich announced they are teaming up to gain as many delegates as possible in order to prevent Trump from getting a majority.
In the past few months, Fiorina has slammed the abortion giant Planned Parenthood for the “butchery of babies for body parts” and called on its CEO Cecile Richards to resign. She also dared pro-abortion candidate Hillary Clinton to watch the undercover videos by the Center for Medical Progress showing top Planned Parenthood employees discussing the sale of aborted babies’ body parts.
