Images of a mother choking up with tears as she holds her tiny premature baby for the first time have captured the hearts of millions on the internet.

More than 6.8 million people have viewed the heartwarming meeting between mother and son after the New York-based group Love What Matters first shared photos and a short video of the family, The Daily Mail reports.

Jessica gave birth to her son Hugo about 10 weeks early via C-section, and the baby quickly was taken to the Neonatal Intensive Care unit to be treated, the report states.

About 60 hours later, a nurse finally brought Hugo to Jessica so that she could hold him in her arms for the first time. Too moved for words, the mother began to cry as she placed her tiny son against her chest.

Love What Matters captured the moment on film and in a series of pictures that it shared on Facebook, along with this message:

After being delivered by c-section he was quickly whisked away to the NICU to be evaluated. Jessica was only briefly able to see him as she needed to recover as well. It wasn’t until almost 60 hours later that Jessica was finally able to hold her baby boy for the first time.

I took this video hoping to catch a moment, never did I anticipate seeing the exact moment that she fell completely in love with him. The bond between Mother and Son immediately solidified.

I hope that this video can show people that Love is the most important thing in anyone’s life. Without it we will simply exist, when the goal is to live.
