Cecile Richards: Senate Must Confirm Obama SCOTUS Nominee “So Women Continue to Have Rights”

According to Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards, the United States will apparently turn into Iran and women will no longer have any rights. That’s what will happen if the Senate doesn’t confirm pro-abortion President Barack Obama’s  eventual nominee to the Supreme Court.

If Obama’s nominee is not confirmed, Richards said there’s a real question about “whether women will continue to have rights.” Here’s a transcript and video of the remarks from the head of the abortion company.

RICHARDS: “That’s right. And I — look, I think the president made his case quite well. He was elected to a four-year term, not a three-year term. And I think that this kind of hyper-partisanship where we’re actually literally not even willing — the Republicans are not even willing to entertain judicial nominations including for their highest court is why people have such disregard for just sort of the breakdown in the system. But you’re right, for women in America and for everyone, we deserve to have nine justices on the Supreme Court, because important decisions are being made everyday, including the case next week about whether women will continue to have rights, access to safe and legal abortion, access to birth control in America. I certainly hope that the Senate rethinks this and entertains whoever the president’s puts forward.”

Richards is referring to a Texas case the Supreme Court will hear that will hold abortion clinics accountable for the health and safety of women. But those rights for women apparently don’t matter.
