Hillary Clinton is no stranger to promoting abortion and, in her latest exploit, she calls pro-life legislation in the state of Florida to protect unborn children from abortion “dangerous and extreme.”
Just what is so dangerous in the minds of the likely Democratic presidential nominee?
Last month, state lawmakers considered Florida House Bill 865, which would ban all abortions except if the mother would need one to prevent serious injury. The bill, which failed to receive a vote for the past six straight years, was approved by the state House Criminal Justice Subcommittee. The bill would make it a felony to perform an abortion or operate an abortion clinic in Florida, the report states.
State Rep. Charles Van Zandt of Keystone Heights, Florida, has filed this legislation for the past seven years, according to the report. “The bill recognizes that both the mother and the baby are citizens of the state of Florida … and we are therefore compelled to protect their lives,” Van Zandt said.
Here’s how the Clinton campaign trashed the pro-life legislation:
The Hillary Clinton campaign is weighing in on legislation in the Florida Captiol to restrict abortion clinics, with her senior policy advisor calling the bills “dangerous and extreme.”
In a post to be published Tuesday evening on the website Medium, senior policy adviser Maya Harris will write that “Hillary Clinton opposes these measures advancing through the Florida legislature – and is the candidate with the strongest history of standing up for women’s health care and rights.”
“The bills are a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade, which has protected a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions for decades. One of these bills would make performing an abortion a first-degree felony. Other proposed restrictions would erect unnecessary hurdles with the purpose of closing down health clinics.
So add this to the laundry list of times Hillary Clinton has pushed unlimited abortions throughout pregnancy for any reason.
