The question moderator Bret Baier posed to Gov. Chris Christie Thursday night was simple: “Can you name one thing the federal government does now that it should not do at all?” It could’ve been answered a million different ways, but the New Jersey governor took it in a pro-life direction.

“How about one that I’ve done in New Jersey for the last six years? And that’s get rid of Planned Parenthood funding for the United States of America,” he responded to Baier.

Baier, who began the question speaking about savings from entitlement reform as a means of balancing the budget, likely had other issues on his mind, as he fired back: “Anything bigger than that?”

To Christie, however, there is nothing “bigger” than defending the unborn, and his retort was spot on.

“Bigger than that? Let me tell you something. When you see thousands upon thousands upon thousands of children being murdered in the womb, I can’t think of anything bigger than that.”

Christie was right, and based on the crowd’s response, they certainly agreed.
