A reporter for Newsweek got himself in hot water today with conservatives after comparing pro-life Republican Ted Cruz and his supporters to Nazis. Alex Nazarayan, a writer for Newsweek, posted the initial tweet saying Cruz has a good campaign ground game but posting a picture of Nazi sympathizers with two swastika flags.
The tweet prompted a massive backlash from conservatives. After the criticism, Nazaryan deleted the tweet and posted this instead:
It revealed your historical ignorance, eager name-calling, and complete contempt for those who disagree with you. https://t.co/GVEivihOiE

@alexnazaryan as a Jew whose relatives died in the holocaust, and a Ted Cruz supporter, I wanted to let you know that you’re a dickhead.

“Cruz may still be a Nazi but I regret suggesting every single one of his supporters is also a Nazi. There, happy?” https://t.co/wQH8YWmYgJ
