“Duck Dynasty” TV stars Willie and Korie Robertson announced a new addition to their family this week.

The Robertson put their long-time adoption advocacy into practice again with the news that they plan to adopt a 13-year-old boy, according to the Christian Post. The teen, who has been living with the family since May, will become number six of the couple’s children – three biological and three adopted.

“He’s amazing, and we are all so thrilled to have another kid around the house. Couldn’t keep the good news to ourselves any longer! We appreciate your prayers and support for our family! Love, The Robertsons,” Korie Robertson wrote on Instagram Sunday.

Korie said they waited to make the announcement because the family wanted some privacy and time to bond with their newest member. The family did not announce the teen’s name or the date of his adoption.

Korie and Willie Robertson have spoken across the country about the joys of adoption. In 2013, Willie told the Adoption Institute’s Angels in Adoption Gala that adopting their children had a bigger impact on their lives than anything else, according to the Post.

“I’ve done a lot of things in the past couple of years,” Willie said at the event. “I’ve met presidents and been all over the world. But I still say the best decision we ever made and that had the biggest impact on our lives was the adoption of our son, Will.

“There are plenty of kids who need homes. That’s why we’re all here. We have adopted children and we have natural children […] and there’s no difference between them.”

The reality show family has been open about their opposition to abortion. Through their fame, the Robertsons consistently promote conservative values, including adoption and abstinence.

Brother Al Robertson’s wife, Lisa, shared in an interview in 2015 that she had an abortion and regrets it every day, LifeNews previously reported.

“There has not been — maybe a day has gone by — that I have not thought of this child. … at the time it was the answer that I sought,” Lisa said. “As I sit here today that is not the answer I would have chosen had I known better, had I been more mature in my thinking.”

Phil Robertson, father of the four brothers, also spoke strongly about his pro-life convictions on a YouTube video in 2013.

“Listen, from the time you started inside your mother’s womb, Thomas Jefferson had it right, you have the God-given right to life for crying out loud. You’re this long (pointing to his finger). You’re a week old inside your mother. They suck you out of there when you’re about like that (point to finger again). You wouldn’t be here tonight!” Robertson told a crowd of people.

“And, when you got to be the size of my thumb, they suck you out. You wouldn’t be here. Then, you grow a little bigger, like my fist – and finally eight, nine months later you come out. And we debate whether it’s a – some woman’s right to tear you out of there a piece at a time! C’mon! You have a God-given right to live. And of all places, inside your mother – what in the world happened to us?”

We’ve had lots of questions about the cute kid popping up in our photos lately ? We are excited to be in the process of…
