The Obama administration confirmed today that it will look into “fetal tissue research” in the Untied States but will not specifically investigate the Planned Parenthood abortion business, which was repeatedly caught selling aborted babies and their body parts. Hearings have exposed how the abortion company likely violated federal laws to sell the body parts.
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Inspector General announced today that it will look into “fetal tissue research” after pro-life Sen. Rand Paul, a GOP presidential candidate, and 34 other senators urged the Obama administration to investigate. Paul released a copy of the letter from the HHS inspector general announcing the probe.

However, the probe will not be comprehensive and will not include Planned Parenthood, the main culprit found to be aborted babies and selling their body parts — and potentially breaking multiple federal laws to do so.
The IG said it plans to review the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) grants for fetal tissue research and its monitoring to make sure that no laws are being broken. It also plans to review the small amount of fetal tissue research that the NIH conducts itself.
“Our goal is to obtain information related to fetal tissue research grants, NIH’s monitoring procedures over third-party certifications and those related to the Department’s internal fetal tissue research, and any known violations of Federal requirements,” HHS Inspector General Daniel Levinson wrote in the letter to Paul.
The IG said it plans to interview HHS and NIH officials and gather documents related to federal oversight of fetal tissue research.
As The Hill reports, Planned Parenthood will not be the subject of the Obama administration’s “investigation.” In fact, the abortion company applauded the Obama administration’s sham investigation
Planned Parenthood is not directly being investigated because it does not conduct fetal tissue research. The undercover videos raised questions about whether the organization was illegally profiting by selling fetal tissue to be used in research by others.
Planned Parenthood on Tuesday released a statement praising the investigation, noting that it had called for a blue-ribbon panel to review fetal tissue oversight in July, after the first videos emerged.
“We applaud the HHS for this timely review of practices around fetal tissue donation — a review we’ve been requesting since this past July,” Planned Parenthood Executive Vice President Dawn Laguens said in a statement. “This work is often critical to life-saving medical research, and has helped with important breakthroughs, such as the polio vaccine and research into a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.”

- In the fourth video: Planned Parenthood’s Dr. Savita Ginde stated, “We don’t want to do just a flat-fee (per baby) of like, $200. A per-item thing works a little better, just because we can see how much we can get out of it.” She also laughed while looking at a plate of fetal kidneys that were “good to go.”
- In the fifth video: Melissa Farrell of Planned Parenthood-Gulf Coast in Houston boasted of Planned Parenthood’s skill in obtaining “intact fetal cadavers” and how her “research” department “contributes so much to the bottom line of our organization here, you know we’re one of the largest affiliates, our Research Department is the largest in the United States.”
- In the sixth video: Holly O’Donnell described technicians taking fetal parts without patient consent: “There were times when they would just take what they wanted. And these mothers don’t know. And there’s no way they would know.”
- In the seventh and perhaps most disturbing video: Holly O’Donnell described the harvesting, or “procurement,” of organs from a nearly intact late-term fetus aborted at Planned Parenthood Mar Monte’s Alameda clinic in San Jose, CA. “‘You want to see something kind of cool,’” O’Donnell says her supervisor asked her. “And she just taps the heart, and it starts beating. And I’m sitting here and I’m looking at this fetus, and its heart is beating, and I don’t know what to think.”
- In the eighth video: StemExpress CEO Cate Dyer admits Planned Parenthood sells “a lot of” fully intact aborted babies.
- The ninth video: catches a Planned Parenthood medical director discussing how the abortion company sells fully intact aborted babies — including one who “just fell out” of the womb.

The full, unedited videos have confirmed that revelations that some aborted baby remains sold by Planned Parenthood go to biotech companies for the purpose of creating “humanized” mice. Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood has been exposed as having sold body parts from aborted babies for as much as 15 years.
The federal law that technically prohibits the sale of aborted babies and their body parts was written by a pro-abortion Congressman decades ago and essentially spells out a process by which sellers of aborted baby body parts can meet certain criteria that allows the sales to be legal.
