The Pro-Life Action League caught a disturbing moment on video (watch below) last Monday in Chicago outside a Planned Parenthood conference when an abortionist knelt down beside the photo of an aborted baby to thank God for her work.

As LifeNews previously reported, the conference highlighted two Planned Parenthood doctors caught on tape selling aborted babies’ body parts. Dr. Deborah Nucatola and Dr. Deborah VanDerhei are still playing a key role in the abortion business’s dealings. Documents obtained by LifeNews show Nucatola and VanDerhei were presenters at the Planned Parenthood conference in Chicago.

After the event, the pro-life group witnessed the unnamed, female abortionist’s prayer.

“We were outside Chicago’s Palmer House hotel where the conference was being hosted with abortion victim photos and other signs when a woman walked out of the hotel and knelt on the sidewalk right next to League National Director Joe Scheidler, who was holding a poster depicting baby Malachi, aborted at 21 weeks,” Matt Yonke said on the Pro-Life Action League’s blog.

The woman began by thanking God for “this wonderful meeting” and the “support I have from my community.”

“And I wanted to express to you the gratitude and humility that I feel as an abortionist,” the woman continued.

“I can imagine no person who is in greater need of Christlike love and excellent medical care than a woman who is faced with an untenable pregnancy,” she said, positioned right beside the poster of aborted baby Malachi.

The woman prayed that she “feel[s] thy spirit and thy guiding hand in my work” and “feels the support of thy spirit” every day.

The abortionist continued: “… and my role as a human being is not to judge others but to give them care and compassion when I can know nothing of their hearts. I leave the judgment to you and your divine judgment.”

“And I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be here … and to ask for you to touch the hearts of those that in their pride fail to have compassion and truly live the example of Christ and to love all.

“And to reserve judgment and to humble themselves before Thee as the all seeing and all knowing and magnanimous and loving being. And I would hope that you would soften their hearts and help them to see the cruelty and the damage that their actions lead to.”

The Pro-Life Action League called the abortionist’s prayer “bizarre” and encouraged pro-lifers to pray for her.

“I’ve been organizing pro-life street protests for over eight years, and I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anything as strange as the abortionist praying on a public sidewalk that I saw last Monday,” Yonke said.

“But as strange and contradictory as her prayer may have been, I hope that what we as pro-lifers could learn from it is to pray for our opposition without impugning their motives or pretending we can read their hearts, which, as this abortionist correctly pointed out, we cannot know.”

The pro-life group was protesting outside the North American Forum on Family Planning at Chicago’s Palmer House Hilton, hosted by Planned Parenthood and the Society for Family Planning. The pro-life group said abortion leaders like Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards and late-term abortionist Leroy Carhart attended.
