A Canadian photographer has created a beautiful series of photos celebrating the lives of people who were born prematurely.
Red Méthot, whose two children also were born prematurely, created the series to show both children and adults who were born early, according to Mashable. He calls it “Les Prémas.”
The photos show each person holding a photo of themselves when they were an infant in the hospital, many with tubes and wires across their tiny bodies. Beside their names is a number indicating how prematurely they were born.
Méthot said he wanted to highlight how the babies have developed over the years.
As you scroll down through the photos of vibrant, wide-eyed children and happy, healthy looking adults, it’s hard not to think about the number beside their names and the possibility that each one of those unique individuals could have been aborted.

Modern medical advancements are saving premature babies earlier than ever before. It’s time that our society starts saving babies from abortion at all stages, too.
