On Saturday, approximately 20,000 pro-life protesters showed up at Planned Parenthood locations across the country to expose their organ harvesting business and demand an end to taxpayer funding of abortion. The Christian Post reports that David Daleiden from The Center for Medical Progress spoke at his local Planned Parenthood in Orange County, California and Lila Rose of Live Action spoke at the protest in Pasadena, California.
Prior to the event, Daleiden said the following about the Planned Parenthood protests: “I look forward to the opportunity to speak at my local Planned Parenthood Mega Center, which is one of the high-volume surgical abortion facilities across the country where they have been harvesting and selling aborted baby parts over the past several years.”
He added, “I look forward to the opportunity to be able to talk about that kind of troubling activity—that illegal, felonious activity of Parenthood right here within my own community.”
As LifeNews previously reported, in July, Planned Parenthood made national headlines after videos were released showing their top executives haggling over the price of aborted babies’ body parts, admitting to altering abortion procedures to procure salable organs for harvesting and casually discussing ways their doctors can “crush” unborn babies to obtain fully intact parts. Unbelievably, one Planned Parenthood director even jokes about using the money she receives from selling aborted babies to buy a Lamborghini.
Then, in the seventh video, former Stem Express employee Holly O’Donnell described the harvesting, or “procurement,” of organs from a nearly intact late-term aborted baby at Planned Parenthood Mar Monte’s Alameda clinic in San Jose, CA. “‘You want to see something kind of cool,’” O’Donnell says her supervisor asked her. “And she just taps the heart, and it starts beating. And I’m sitting here and I’m looking at this fetus, and its heart is beating, and I don’t know what to think.”
In Michigan, protest organizer Leisa Snow told The Christian Post that their event in Grand Rapids was fairly contentious compared to previous events because of counter protesters.
She said, “My main feeling today is that it almost brought me to tears because of the conflict, there were some young people [there] who felt that babies were not human. Counter-protestors were twerking in front of our signs. They have an agenda and it’s to be obnoxious.” Snow also explained that she decided to get involved in the rally because of the success at the Grand Rapids event in August, which had over 500 people attend.
In New Mexico, Pastor Quintin Cundiff explained that he attended his local Planned Parenthood protest in Albuquerque because the expose videos showed him that Christians cannot be silent in the face of evil. In an article on FGGAM.com, Cundiff explained that one time he was apathetic about abortion and silent in his support of life. He said, “This past summer, the videos about Planned Parenthood’s atrocities disgusted me and made me realize that now is the time to fight back against this pervasive evil of abortion that has so insidiously ingrained itself into our society. I got into the fight rather innocently.”
He also said he hopes the protests will encourage other pro-lifers to be courageous and stand up against abortion. He concluded, “The real people who I hope benefited were the people who did nothing. The people just like I used to be. The people who are too afraid of what others might say to them for defending life. The people who don’t want to get involved with something that they view as ‘political,’ though that label is woefully inadequate for the abortion issue.”
