During the 4th Congressional hearing yesterday on the Planned Parenthood abortion business and its sale of body parts from aborted babies,Democrats attempted to censor a video exposing Planned Parenthood.
During the hearing, Dr. Anthony Levatino, a pro-life physician from New Mexico who is a former abortion practitioner, told members of a Congressional committee investigating Planned Parenthood that, if they are evaluating how it sells the body parts of aborted babies, they need to understand how abortion procedures tear babies apart.
He showed an undercover video that the pro-life group LiveAction took two years ago showing an abortion facility staffer acknowledging leaving babies to die following failed abortions.
But Democrats objected and pro-abortion Representative David Cicilline, a Rhode Island Democrat, tried to get the video stricken from the official record of the hearing. Cicilline argued the video was irrelevant because it didn’t show Planned Parenthood but only focused on the kinds of late-term abortions Planned Parenthood does and how little respect is shown to unborn babies eve after abortions.
Asked if he would agree with striking a statement from the record from another pro-abortion Democratic Congressman earlier in the hearing, who spend an inordinate amount of time trashing pro-lifers over gun control, Cicilline refused to agree with that request.
Democrats were able to strike the video from the record because a few Republican lawmakers had temporarily left the room. But, later, the Republican congressmen returned and a new vote was taken to reverse the vote.
After the exchange, pro-life committee chairman, Rep. Trent Franks chided the Democrats, saying “I wonder if we’ll be able to strike the video from your memory?”
Below is the video Levatino showed the committee:
