Rhonda Darville, the founder and executive director of the Bahamas first pregnancy resource center (PRC), recently shared her vision for her organization and past with abortion. Darville grew up on the island of Nassau with her parents and went to an Anglican church.

However, she was molested by her brother and a priest, and eventually traveled down a destructive path that resulted in abortion. At the age of 18 she had her first abortion and later she had a second. Then, she tried to kill herself three times because of the emotional pain from her abortions. Tragically, many women try to attempt suicide after abortion; in fact, statistics show that post-abortive women are six-times more likely to commit suicide than women who have given birth.

Previously, Darville worked at a PRC in Virginia and at Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center in Florida. She started counseling post-abortive women after working through Forgiven and Set Free, a bible study for women seeking healing after abortion. As LifeNews previously reported, statistics show that 78% of women who see an ultrasound of their baby at a PRC rejects abortion and goes on to have their child.

Darville told LifeNews more about why she opened a pregnancy center in the Bahamas.

She said, “You see I did not believe that I was worthy to go beyond just being a good bible study leader girl; God opened up countless possibilities to me. After a message from Dr. Jerry Falwell, I had to really look at everything God had told me. I am from the Bahamas and was living in Virginia to pursue a Biblical Degree with my husband Jeff. Now, we are opening the first ever CPC in the Bahamas, we had our first introductory event on Tuesday June 2nd, 2015 and we are believing God for a building with no financial constraints; an ultrasound machine and many volunteers.”

She concluded, “This is the biggest undertaking that we have ever had in our lives. But, we know that God has called us to come back to the Bahamas and open this center. The need for education of Sanctity of All lives is great here!

Pray for us and with us and we move toward the work God has prepared for us before we were born.”
