In a speech to young African leaders on Monday, President Barack Obama condemned the practice of killing people and harvesting their organs. At the same time, the president is silent on the Planned Parenthood abortion business harvesting the organs of babies it kills in abortions and selling them for research.
Mollie Hemingway at The Federalist noticed the stark juxtaposition of Obama condemning the practice in Africa but ignoring the same sort of practice here at home.
President Barack Obama told a group of young African leaders on Monday that harvesting organs from humans that are killed as part of an African ritual was “craziness” and a “cruel” tradition that needed to stop. He warned of dehumanizing marginal groups of humans and of the problems that arise when “you are not able to see someone else as a human being.”
In a wide-ranging question and answer session with members of the Young African Leaders Initiative [YALI], a woman from Kenya said “Persons with albinism in Africa are being killed and their body parts harvested for ritual purposes. My request to you is to raise this issue with heads of state of African countries to bring these atrocities to an end.”
Although Obama has strong convictions about the killing of human beings and the harvesting of their organs, that concern clearly doesn’t extend to the trafficking of baby body parts by Planned Parenthood. Obama has been virtually silent on the abortion giant’s videos showing their top executives negotiating the sale of aborted babies and sharing how they alter their procedures to obtain salable organs.
Moreover, Obama’s top spokesman has gone out of his way to excuse Planned Parenthood’s actions.
White House spokesperson Josh Earnest said Obama does not believe there is evidence of Planned Parenthood acting unethically and wouldn’t support legislation to defund them. He said, “On balance, the president would not be supportive of such congressional action. This is a tactic we have seen used before. The president obviously does not support that ongoing effort.”
Last week, Earnest admitted that he had not watched any of the Planned Parenthood footage showing their top executives haggling over the price of aborted babies’ body parts and discussing ways to alter procedures to obtain salable organs for harvesting.
Instead, Earnest said he relied on news reports from other sources and came to the conclusion that there is “not a lot of evidence” that Planned Parenthood violated any standards or rules.
Unfortunately, this is not surprising since President Obama and Planned Parenthood are best friends.
