On MSNBC’s Now with Alex Wagner, National Organization for Women (NOW) President Terry O’Neill stood by her friends at Planned Parenthood and argued that their recent scandal won’t affect them politically. In fact, O’Neill believes it will ultimately hurt Republicans who are trying to keep their seats in Congress.
She said, “Those women are not going to hold their seats much longer, quite frankly… the Republican leadership has an unfortunate history of chewing up women and spitting them out. They use them and as long as they’re useful, they use them sort of as cover for their losing the women’s vote and now, they will be losing the millennial vote, both men as well as women. So, it is a real problem. “
As LifeNews previously reported, four videos released by the Center of Medical Progress show Planned Parenthood executives negotiating the sale of aborted babies’ body parts with actors posing as buyers from a human biologics company. However, the abortion company says they have not acted illegally and that the videos are apart of a smear campaign to ruin their reputation.
O’Neill agrees and indicated that the videos will not destroy Planned Parenthood because they are “beloved” in America. She explained, “I don’t think any politician is vulnerable who supports Planned Parenthood because Planned Parenthood is beloved and trusted.” She also stated that moms love Planned Parenthood and that she disagrees with Hillary Clinton’s recent comments about the footage. In an interview with the New Hampshire Newspaper, Clinton said, I have seen pictures from them and obviously find them disturbing.”
“Moms loved Planned Parenthood – independent moms, Republican moms, and Democratic moms because high schoolers and college students, their daughters get excellent service. They get honest services and they get services they can trust. So – so, to the degree that Hillary Clinton is saying that somehow, Planned Parenthood has done anything wrong, I would take issue and disagree extremely strongly with her. Planned Parenthood has nothing to apologize for, nothing. I have only admiration for her.
You know, I happen to walk out of the Capitol South metro station in downtown Washington on Tuesday morning and what it was that I saw when I came up the escalators? Is this huge poster of bloody fetuses. That’s disgusting. That’s disturbing. That is not produced by Planned Parenthood. It is by this shadowy group, the CMP, whoever they are, and turn out to be deeply connected to an organization called Operation Rescue, which is well known as being on the violent fringe of anti-abortion activism. So, no. Planned Parenthood has nothing to be ashamed of. I think that this CMP has something to fear in terms criminal investigations in California and I hope that goes forward.”
It is clear that O’Neill is a true abortion extremist in her disapproval of Clinton considering that she’s been Planned Parenthood’s vocal champion for years. In the past, Clinton has spoken against the partial birth and late term abortion ban as well as any attempts to defund Planned Parenthood. As a matter of fact, Clinton is so popular with Planned Parenthood executives that in 2009 she received their Margaret Sanger award and has been given more campaign money from the abortion company than all of her competitors.
