The post reads, “I was 16 when my girlfriend got pregnant. We went to the abortion clinic on 59th Street. We filled out the papers and everything. Then right before we were called back, we looked at each other, and said: ‘Let’s get out of here.’”

The post, which was shared on the Facebook page Humans of New York, has garnered more than 720,000 likes on Facebook and nearly 25,000 shares. In a picture with the post, the father is seen with his daughter who was saved from abortion.

In the comments section of the Facebook post, followers share similar stories about babies saved from abortion. One mother wrote, “I was in your same situation at 18 years old. It was scary and confusing and the journey has never been easy, but my sweet boy turned 4 years old two days ago and every single second and moment of his life has been so rewarding and fulfilling.”

Another said, “I was 16 and pregnant and also went to an abortion clinic. They did an ultrasound and turned the screen away from me. The doctor said I wasn’t allowed to see because it might make me change my mind. I started crying, sat up and said “I think I just did, I’m keeping my baby” now my son is almost 9 years old and I don’t know what I’d do without him.”

Then a mother shared that the 24-hour waiting period requirement in Louisiana saved her daughter from abortion. She wrote, “My boyfriend wanted me to get an abortion with our daughter. I went to the abortion clinic. I had the ultrasound and everything to tell how far along i was. But in Louisiana you have to wait 24 hours to actually have the procedure. I am so thankful for that because I couldn’t do it. My daughter will be 5 on Sunday. I am sooo happy I didn’t have the abortion. She saved me. I was acting reckless. Doing things had no business doing. I honestly know that she saved my life.”

The post also received praise from an adoptive mother who thanked her child’s biological parents for choosing life for their baby. She wrote, “My first child is adopted and she’s almost 3 months old. Her birth mom is one of the bravest people I know and she had made two appointments to go to an abortion clinic, but the both times she couldn’t go through with it. I’m forever grateful to her for giving us what we struggled for years to have.”
