Mike Huckabee: It’s Not Enough to De-Fund Planned Parenthood, We Must End Abortion

Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee is responding to the second and latest video showing a top Planned Parenthood doctor negotiating and facilitating the sale of body parts from babies killed in abortions.

The video has elected officials and pro-life Americans demanding that Congress and state legislatures end taxpayer funding for the abortion business, but the former Arkansas governor says that, while it’s an important first step, the pro-life movement must keep its eye on the ultimate goal of ending abortion altogether. In an exclusive comment to LifeNews.com, Huckabee drew comparisons to the battle to abolish slavery.

Huckabee told LifeNews: “It’s not enough to say we’ll end funding for these butchers at Planned Parenthood.  We need to end the disgusting disregard for human life that is the foundation for the infanticide that is beneath the dignity of our nation.  We didn’t end slavery by just limiting how many slaves a person could own or for how long—we recognized that it is a violation of basic human rights.  Let’s stop this slaughter and ask God’s forgiveness for not doing it sooner.”

When he announced his campaign for president, Huckabee has the same message about wanting to end abortion.

SIGN THE PETITION! Congress Must De-Fund Planned Parenthood Immediately

Huckabee has put forward a pro-life “Pledge to the People” that he says is the only pledge he will sign as a candidate for president.

“I am hard at work on the campaign trail in Arizona this morning, but I wanted to send you a quick note to make sure you had seen my “Pledge to the People”. It is the only pledge I am signing as a candidate for President. This campaign is about you and this pledge is about you,” Huckabee said in an email to his supporters.

“As Governor, I promoted and signed a fetal protection act. I imposed a ban on partial birth abortion, established waiting periods, created parental notification requirements, and passed a bill so mothers who brought a newborn to a hospital or fire station would not be prosecuted for child abandonment,” he continued. “As President, I will always stand for the sanctity of all human life from the moment of conception until the grave.”

“As President I will fight to end abortion,” he concludes.

As LifeNews reported, a second shocking video in as many weeks has been released showing a top Planned Parenthood official discussing and arranging the sale of body parts of aborted babies. The first video shows Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Senior Director of Medical Services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, describing how Planned Parenthood sells the body parts of aborted unborn children and admitting she uses partial-birth abortions to supply intact body parts.

In this newest video, Mary Gatter, the Medical director at Planned Parenthood Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley in Calfiornia, discusses selling aborted baby body parts with undercover investigators posing as officials with a biotech company that acts as a middleman to sell aborted baby body parts to universities and other places that conduct such research. Gatter is a senior official within Planned Parenthood and is President of the Medical Directors’ Council, the central committee of all Planned Parenthood affiliate medical directors.

SIGN THE PETITION! Congress Must Investigate Planned Parenthood for Selling Aborted Baby Parts

Gatter discusses the pricing of aborted baby body parts — telling the biotech company officials that the prices for such things as a baby’s liver, head or heart are negotiable. She also tells the officials that she could talk with the Planned Parenthood abortion practitioners to potentially alter the abortion procedure to kill the baby in a way that would best preserve those body parts after the unborn child is killed in the abortion.

The video shows Gatter haggling over payments for intact fetal specimens and offering to use a “less crunchy technique” to get more intact body parts.
