In the wake of a national controversy surrounding Planned Parenthood, Deal’s office announced it will investigate the abortion giant after a shocking new expose’ video that caught Planned Parenthood’s top doctor describing how the abortion business sells the body parts of aborted babies. Congress is also set to launch an investigation.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:
Deal’s office said in a statement that the Department of Community Health and Department of Public Health will conduct a joint review of the clinics “to ensure this horrific practice is not occurring here.”
“Gov. Nathan Deal is committed to protecting life at all stages,” said the release. “Particularly the most vulnerable and defenseless among us.”

The decision comes after the state pro-life group Georgia Life Alliance called on an investigation.
“The horrific and illegal acts described so callously by Planned Parenthood in yesterday’s video should give even the most ardent pro-choice advocate cause for grave concern. We urge Georgia’s lawmakers to acknowledge the gravity of this evidence and launch an investigation to ensure this is not happening in Georgia,” GAL director Emily Matson told LifeNews.com in an email.
She said: “In addition, and in light of the lacking nature of our state’s abortion provider regulations, the time is now to ensure abortion procedure and practices receive the scrutiny and attention of our regulatory and enforcement agencies.”
The order follows an announcement that Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine will investigate Planned Parenthood in his state. Governors of two other states are also looking into the selling of body parts from aborted babies and Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal have launched investigations in their states. Congress is also set to launch an investigation.

New undercover footage shows Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Senior Director of Medical Services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, describing how Planned Parenthood sells the body parts of aborted unborn children and admitting she uses partial-birth abortions to supply intact body parts.
In the video, Nucatola is at a business lunch with actors posing as buyers from a human biologics company. As head of PPFA’s Medical Services department, Nucatola has overseen medical practice at all Planned Parenthood locations since 2009. She also trains new Planned Parenthood abortion doctors and performs abortions herself at Planned Parenthood Los Angeles up to 24 weeks.
