This Amazing Bus Saves Babies From Abortion Right Across the Street From Planned Parenthood

In Texas, a mobile Pregnancy Care Center from Houston’s Coalition for Life sits across the street from the 78,000 square feet Planned Parenthood abortion facility. Currently the Texas facility is one of the largest in the nation and has performed 70,000 more abortions per year than in the past.

CBN News reports that the new pro-life bus provides free ultrasounds and pregnancy tests to women in need. In fact, so far more than 7,000 women have entered the bus and nine out of ten have chosen life for their babies. The program coordinator for Coalition for Life, Teresa Camara, said that the bus serves women well since the state’s 24-hour waiting period allows them extra time to reconsider their decision.

She explained, “Because there’s a 24-hour waiting period, they [the women] will go into the facility for their ultrasound. Then they come out afterwards. Then they go back in for an abortion so the hope is that they will pass a prayer warrior who will hand them one of these cards at any given time.”

Sidewalk counselor, Nancy Shaw, also commented on the bus, saying, “It is so important.  It’s so easy to say, ‘Honey, we have help right here, right behind you in the bus.  Right here, right now.”

Thankfully, Texas has an ultrasound law that requires women to see the scan of their unborn baby prior to having an abortion. As LifeNews previously reported, in the United States 34 states have ultrasound laws in place, and these laws are critical because statistics show that 78% of pregnant women who see an ultrasound of their baby reject abortion.

Mary Balch, the Legislative Director for National Right to Life, explained why ultrasound legislation is so important. She said, “Clearly, real-time ultrasound images of the unborn child are truthful, not misleading, and can lead to a more informed decision. Ultrasound is a window to the womb allowing the mother to view for herself what is inside her, seeing not opinion but objective and accurate fact.”

In Texas, Richelle Scott told CBN that an ultrasound on the pro-life bus saved her son’s life from abortion.

She explained, “As soon as I saw him on the ultrasound and they let me hear the heart I started crying.  That was it.”

The Executive Director of Houston Coalition for Life, Christine Melchor, added that this is a regular occurrence.

She said, “They usually start crying as we begin and cover their eyes.  As we continue with the ultrasound they start peeking out with their fingers. We call it a baby and we call them mom and ‘Oh, look—he’s sucking his fingers and he has the hiccups’ and the next thing we know they’re smiling and crying at the same time.”
