Famously, the Catholic known also known for her role in helping to feed the hungry and end poverty, said that abortion “is the greatest threat to peace.”

Pope John Paul-II beatified Mother Teressa on October 19, 2003 and she passed away in September 1997.

Paul Thelekat a priest at the Syro Malabar Church in Calcutta, said on Monday, that he looked forward to the canonization.

“As a Christian, I am eagerly waiting for the canonization of Mother Teresa. She has been a mother to millions of Indian especially the poorest of the poor and the underprivileged,” Thelekat said.

The famous Mother Teresa interview in which the revered Catholic nun maintained that abortion is the “greatest threat to peace in the world” has been uploaded to YouTube for people to appreciate.

Mother Teresa gave the interview to Thom O’Connor in 1985 and, though her words are well known, the footage of the interview has rarely been seen until now.

During the interview, she says the unborn baby is created “in the image of God for greater things, to love and be loved.”

“That is why it is such a terrible thing to think that the mother, to whom the child has been given as a gift of God, could destroy it,” she says.

“That’s why I think that abortion has become the greatest destroyer of peace today because it destroys the life of the child, but also destroys the conscience of the mother also, and for years and years, she knows that she has murdered her own child,” she said.
