Only in the mind of the president of America’s biggest abortion business does a bill to ban painful late-term abortions on viable unborn babies “lack compassion.” But that’s just what Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards said yesterday in a rant on Twitter after the House of Representatives passed the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.
Richards said the ban on abortions after 20 weeks “lacks compassion and respect.”
“The House will vote on an unconstitutional 20-week abortion ban,” she said before the vote, calling it a bill that would “hurt women” despite the fact that little girls are killed in abortions.
“This ban would put barriers to care in front of rape survivors & eliminate health care options when they’re needed most,” Richards falsely claimed. “Put simply a 20-week abortion ban lacks compassion & it lacks respect.”
Put simply: a 20-week abortion ban lacks compassion & it lacks respect. #StopTheBans #HR36

As is often the case, pro-life advocates on Twitter quickly responded to and rebutted Richards’ comments.

Why doesn’t the 5 month old baby also deserve compassion and respect? @CecileRichards

@CecileRichards are you serious right now? Who carries a child to 5 months and then decides to abort them? You think that’s compassion? — Jonathan (@jmorris116) May 13, 2015
@CecileRichards be compassionate to the unborn #theyfeelpain

@CecileRichards Who does it lack compassion for? The baby who is being torn limb by limb, or the mother who has to live with that knowledge? — Linda Roberts (@sweetpeeper2u) May 13, 2015
. @CecileRichards I would say killing a baby lacks compassion, actually. Compassion is loving all life. YOU lack compassion and PP does too.
