In Louisiana, 10-year-old Lacey Parker just made the cheerleading team at North DeSoto Middle School. She also has Down syndrome.

Lacey’s mom, Renee Parker, said, “Down syndrome is a label, it’s not who she is. She’s an amazing little girl who strives to do whatever she wants to do. She’s never said ‘I can’t,’ she’s never wanted anybody to treat her different. She’s always told us ‘I just want to be like everybody else.”

According to KSLA news, when Lacey was born doctors didn’t expect her to live ten days, much less ten years. However, she proved the doctors wrong and beat the odds. Lacey’s sister recorded the moment when she found out she made the cheerleading team and her reaction is priceless. So far, the video has been seen over three million times.
