Just a few hours after the Pro-Life Action League’s Eric Scheidler revealed yesterday that the Albany Medical Surgical Center abortion facility in Chicago has been fined $50,000 and had its license revoked, NARAL Pro-Choice New York gave an award to Willie Parker—one of the clinic’s abortionists:
Over the past few years, Parker has become quite the darling of the pro-choice movement, giving provocative interviews about his “abortion ministry” [sic] where he says things like, “I do abortions because I’m a Christian,” and crisscrossing the country to speak at events. To be sure, NARAL isn’t the only group showering Parker with honors—so too, the nation’s largest abortion chain itself gave Parker their Margaret Sanger Award on March 19:
As mentioned in yesterday’s article, on December 20, one of Albany’s abortionists—whose name was omitted from documents [PDF] obtained from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH)—left the facility in an ambulance to accompany a woman whose cervix he had lacerated, thereby leaving unattended three (3) other women who had just had abortions in the recovery room with no physician present in the clinic.
As a result, Albany was cited for violation of Presence of a Qualified Physician and fined $10,000, and would later be fined an additional $40,000 for other violations.
For all we know, Parker might well have been the abortionist (referred to by the IDPH only as “MD #1″) who abandoned three of Albany’s patients that day. Parker is one of five abortionists listed on the facility’s latest renewal licensure [PDF] (the others being Steve Lichtenberg, Darwin Jackson, Murray Pelta, and Allison Cowett). The abortionist identified by IDPH as “MD #3″ is Lichtenberg, since he is referred to as the medical director. So that still leaves open the possibility that Parker himself was the abandoning physician.

At the very least, both Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice New York have recently bestowed honors on an abortionist who’s on staff at a notorious abortion clinic whose license has been revoked and been fined $50,000 for a host of serious violations. And at the most, that abortionist himself is responsible for abandoning three patients after seriously injuring another one.
In any case, the optics aren’t good for them. And this speaks volumes about the shallowness of their commitment to “women’s health.”
