In the United Kingdom, a 24-year-old woman had the surprise of her life when she gave birth to a baby she didn’t even know she was pregnant with. According to the Daily Echo, Nikki Kelly and fiancée Aaron Swallow said that throughout the pregnancy Kelly showed no symptoms, such as morning sickness or cravings and didn’t show a bump. Kelly also experienced regular periods and was taking contraceptives.
Then, around New Years, Kelly started feeling off while she and Swallow were visiting her family in Scotland. Kelly said, “I thought ‘Oh well, obviously it’s just that time of the month’ because I didn’t know anything of it – I was still on the pill, I was going to the gym two times a week, going bowling.” However, the pain became so severe that the couple decided to return home.
On January 5th, Kelly gave birth to her son James on her bathroom floor. She explained, “I was getting up to have a pee every two hours, then every hour, until I couldn’t get up off the bathroom floor. I called Aaron 76 times in half-an-hour. I couldn’t move, I was in that much pain, and felt the need to push – three pushes later out comes my son. Aaron phoned me to say he was on his way and he asked me, ‘Who’s that? Who’s crying?’ and I said, ‘It’s your son’.
She added: “I saw on television what they do when a baby is born, so I checked James’s hands and feet and wrapped him up in my dressing gown.”
James was immediately sent to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester where he weighed in at six pounds. After the birth, doctors estimated that Kelly was between 32 and 37 weeks pregnant when her son was born. Kelly said, “I couldn’t believe it. I was chilled out but my other half was shocked, and he couldn’t understand why I wasn’t freaking out. James is perfect in every way and is our little miracle – and I don’t have a single stretch mark, so I can’t complain.”

She added, “The doctors said because I’d kept fit and healthy, that’s why I didn’t have a bump, because he was sat closer to my spine.”
As LifeNews previously reported, another woman gave birth to a baby not knowing she was pregnant. In April 2014, Jennifer Scollin called 911 when she thought she had a severe stomach bug. But shortly after the paramedic’s arrived, and only two pushes later, her son Cole was born. He was delivered in the back of an ambulance, in her driveway.
