Two Republican presidential hopefuls are heading up a pro-life event today in Washington. Senator Rand Paul and businesswoman Carly Fiorina are hosting the Susan B. Anthony List’s Campaign for Life Gala and Summit.

Paul, the Kentucky pro-life senator is fresh off of his highly-applauded interview in which he turned the tables on a reporter’s question and forced Democratic chair Debbie Wasserman Schulz to defend late-term abortions — something she said should be allowed without limits.

He told pro-life advocates at the SBA List event that the media is duplicitous — going after pro-lifers but soft-balling questions to abortion advocates like Hillary Clinton.

“They’re always going after us about abortion,” he said. “You ever hear them ask Hillary Clinton about this money she’s getting?”

“Anybody hear a tough question to her so far? You know why? She’s not taking any questions,” he added — saying the pro-abortion mainstream media has a “love fest” with Hillary Clinton.

Carly Fiorina will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies at the Gala. Unlike Paul, she hasn’t officially announced her campaign for the Republican nomination, but Fiorina has been crisscrossing the country actively hitting pro-abortion Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton on a host of political issues and battling the assumption that female voters should support Hillary simply because she’s a woman.

Senator Lindsay Graham (R-SC), lead sponsor of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act in the U.S. Senate, will also participate in the SBA List event today along with Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) and Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus, who will both receive awards for their pro-life leadership.

“With the Republican presidential field unified behind the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, momentum is building to advance this legislation in Congress and elect a pro-life president who will sign it into law. We are encouraged to have such a diverse coalition of leaders from across the Republican Party participate in this year’s Gala and Summit with these very goals in mind,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List.

She told LifeNews: “It is heartbreaking to see the Democratic Party, which once championed the weakest and most vulnerable, hold fast to their party platform of abortion on-demand, at taxpayer’s expense. Their extremism turns off many Americans – including women, Hispanics, and young people. We look forward to seeing this year’s speakers address this clear difference and the fact that the pro-life position is not only morally just, it is politically smart.”

Previous Campaign for Life keynote speakers include Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-AR), Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), Gov. Mike Pence (R-IN), Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R-MN), Sen. Fred Thompson (R-TN), and Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA).
