In a bizarre case of a potential infanticide in Michigan, a Detroit-area woman reportedly gave birth in a restroom at her workplace and then allegedly placed the body of her dead newborn child in a bag and hid the bag under her desk. An autopsy is pending to determine if the baby was dead or alive at the time of the birth and if the mother had any role in killing the child.
Police on Tuesday responded to a call at a firm called CEVA Logistics and discovered that the child had been delivered in a bathroom at the business. Both mother and baby were taken to the hospital, where the infant was pronounced dead on arrival.
