On March 21st, people with Down syndrome and those who live and work with them throughout the world organized and participated in World Down Syndrome Day.

According to Down Syndrome International (DSi), the event is dedicated to raising public awareness and creating a single global voice for advocating for the rights, inclusion and well being of people with Down syndrome. In the United States alone, there are 6,000 babies born with the condition every year.

This year DSi celebrated their 10th anniversary and posted a video about a man with Down syndrome proposing to his girlfriend. Watch the special proposal in the video below and share with friends and family!

Sadly, a larger percentage of people with Down syndrome become victims of abortion.
