On March 3, Kyle and Michelle Williams got an unexpected surprise when they welcomed their newborn baby boy into the world.
According to the Daily Mail, a sonogram during Michelle’s pregnancy showed that they were having a girl. The couple had already picked out a name and painted the child’s room pink. However, Michelle delivered a health 7Ib 5oz baby boy via cesarean section.
The baby’s grandmother couldn’t believe the news and said, “It’s a boy? You guys are not joking?” Then Michelle tells her sister about the unexpected sex of her baby through Skype. Her sister exclaims, “’Are you kidding! Oh my God! Oh my goodness! Yey!”
An OB/GYN from Los Angeles, Dr. Lisa Masterson, explained that getting a baby’s sex wrong is more common than people think when sonograms are involved.
She said, “There are multiple things that factor into the accuracy of the ultrasound,’ she explained. The fluid that’s around the baby, because there’s less fluid then everything is kind of squished up and you can’t delineate all the borders.”
