Australian model Robyn Lawley was initially planning to have an abortion when she found out she was pregnant, because she worried about the adverse impact an abortion would have on her modeling career.

Lawley has contracts with Ralph Lauren and Pantene and is considered a plus size model in her industry. She’s also worked with some of the world’s top photographers Rankin and Greg Kade.

Lawley considered abortion when she found out she was expecting because she’s very career driven. According to Mail Online, she even called an abortion clinic to find out about the procedure.

She said, “As soon as I found out I was pregnant, I had to take all options into account, because with a baby, I’ll have to majorly slow down — and I’m very career driven. That scared me.”

“I’ve always been proud of my body, but I feel out of control and I don’t know when I’m going to get my body back,” she worried.

Fortunately, her desire to have children won out over a concern about her career and other factors. Thankfully, the model decided against abortion but later said she considers herself “pro-choice.”

She said she did research that showed her her age of 25 was the optimum age to have a baby so she decided to carry on with the pregnancy.

In another interview she revealed that her mother had an abortion earlier in her life. Lawley concluded, “I had dreamed of children with my current partner…who I love more than anything and after a short thought process I knew I wanted this and we would make it work.”

Now, Lawley has given birth to her little girl, named Ripley — who the model calls a “precious little human.”

Here’s more:

Representatives for the Sports Illustrated model and beau Everest Schmidt confirmed that she had given birth to a daughter, whom they have named Ripley.

The 25-year-old gave birth to her little girl on Thursday February 26 in Los Angeles.

Robyn’s rep told Daily Mail Australia: ‘The new family are doing great, everyone is healthy, happy and looking forward to spending quiet time with their precious new little human.’

She added that the little girl is ‘the epitome of contented perfection.’

The model, who recently appeared in a shoot for the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue as the first plus size model ever to star in the magazine, announced the birth on Instagram.

She posted a gorgeous picture of her newborn’s tiny hand between her finger and thumb.
