On February 24th, US Navy Officer Gregory Campbell met his daughter, Bernadette, for the first time after being away on duty for seven months. Baby Bernadette greeted Officer Campbell when he arrived at the Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego, California.

Lieutenant Campbell, of the Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 23 ‘Wildcards’, was one of 4,500 soldiers making their way home this week. According to the Daily Mail, the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit have been on a seven-month deployment in the Eastern Pacific and the Persian Gulf.

Bernadette was dressed in white and wearing ear protectors to safeguard her ears at the noisy military base.
