The Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network is pleased to announce two events, as part of Terri’s Day 2015, that will be held in Philadelphia on March 31st, 2015, the 10-year anniversary of Terri Schiavo’s death.
Glenn Beck, nationally recognized radio and television host, founder of TheBlaze, and eight time New York Times bestselling author, will be the honored speaker at the 3rd Annual Life & Hope Award Gala on Tuesday, March 31st, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Union League of Philadelphia. The evening will include the presentation of the “Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Award,” which honors an individual or family who fought to protect the dignity of a loved one against overwhelming odds.
In addition, Archbishop Charles Chaput of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will celebrate a national Memorial Mass just prior to the Award dinner, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia. All are invited and encouraged to attend the mass.
Since 2007, Terri Schiavo’s family has recognized the anniversary of Terri’s death on or around March 31st, by celebrating Terri’s Day, the “International Day of Prayer and Remembrance for Terri Schindler Schiavo, and All of Our Vulnerable Brothers and Sisters.”
Terri’s Day was established not only to remember Terri and foster education, prayer and activism regarding discrimination against the cognitively disabled and medically vulnerable, but also to advocate for people in situations similar to what Terri and her family faced.
