On The Flipside, a conservative comedy show, the screenwriter of Gosnell the Movie, Andrew Klavan, explains why he wanted to be apart of the creation of the film, which was released in part in 2013.

Kermit Gosnell was a late-term abortionist who was convicted on three counts of first-degree murder. He ran a “House of Horrors” where minority women were maimed and their babies were butchered. His “clinic” was filled with bloody furniture, outdated equipment, and the body parts of babies that he slaughtered.

Klavan said on the show, “It’s not a happy story, it’s a story of an abortionist baby killer in some of the worst neighborhoods of Philadelphia. For decades, without anyone stopping him, there was complaint after complaint; basically he was delivering live babies and killing them. He was a serial killer, the biggest serial killer in American history. The press dumped the story; the press box was empty. They moved into a bigger courtroom because they thought it was going to be packed, but it was empty.”gosnell52

The Grand Jury report estimates that Gosnell delivered hundreds of babies alive and then had their spinal cords “snipped.” As LifeNews previously reported, an Indiana representative, Marlin Stutzman, described Gosnell’s facility before members of Congress.

“In that building—crawling with animals, reeking of urine, and filled with bloodstained furniture—Kermit Gosnell was running a slaughterhouse. On a regular basis, he used a pair of scissors to sever the spinal cords of helpless babies who were born alive during illegal, late-term abortions. The loss of these lives should scar the conscience of civilized people everywhere. This is not a discussion about abstract concepts like ‘choice,’ we are talking about brutal deaths of newborn children. Mr. Speaker, Kermit Gosnell is a predator who must be publicly exposed and openly denounced and that’s why I come to the floor—to bring attention to this case.”

During the trial of Kermit Gosnell the media failed to report on the case and television networks didn’t cover the story until the public demanded that they end their blackout of the trial. Andrew Klavan, whose known for writing novels that were made into movies starring Clint Eastwood, believes this was because the media and Hollywood are not interested in covering stories that shed light on the travesty of abortion.

Klavan said when he revealed he was as a conservative, he stopped getting calls from Hollywood to write scripts; however, this hasn’t stopped him from exposing the abortion industry and working on the Gosnell film. He said that he hopes to reveal in the film the people who allowed Gosnell to get away with his heinous crimes. He said, “Many crime writers, mystery story writers, they like to create great villains. Hannibal Lector, perfect example. I don’t care as much about the villains as I care about the people who let it happen. It’s the people around them and how they react. Are they heros, are they cowards, are they people who turn their backs and say they didn’t see anything?”
