Over our 22 years of reporting pro-life news here at LifeNews, we’ve featured hundreds of stories of cases of infanticide or abortion where mothers show callous disregard for human life by taking the lives of their unborn or newly-born children seemingly without any remorse.
Then there are heroic stories like this one, where a mother sacrificed her own life and somehow managed to protect the life of her infant baby from her partner’s violent attack.
In Georgia, 33-year-old Jessica Arrendale was ona date with her husband, 30-year-old Antoine Davis, when the former military man reportedly became “belligerently drunk and abusive.” Davis eventually chased Arrendale up the stairs of their home and, despite her attempts to defend herself with a baseball bat, he overpowered her and hit her several times with it. Davis eventually grabbed a rifle and broke through a bathroom door and killed his wife.
When police arrived on the scene, they found Arrendale had been shot to death, but she had somehow contorted her body in a way to cover the toilet, where her she had placed her 6-month-old baby to protect her from Davis.
While sometimes it seems overwhelming how many mothers sacrifice their unborn children in abortions, remember mothers like Jessican Arrendale who sacrificed their own lives for their kids.
Investigators are not quite sure how, but the mother was able to twist her body in such a way that the infant dropped into the water filled toilet bowl.
Arrendale’s family believes Davis would have also shot the baby, but she was hidden behind her mother’s body.
The baby was treated for hypothermia and is currently in DFACS custody.
Davis was found in another room, dead from a gunshot wound.

Investigators believe Davis shot Arrendale in the head, then shot himself.
Friends and family have set up a gofundme page to help offset the cost of the funeral and aid in the education of Arrendale’s children.
