Jill Duggar, daughter of Bob and Michelle Duggar from the reality show, 19 Kids and Counting, is expecting a baby!
The couple suspected that Jill was pregnant but several pregnancy tests came back with a negative result. However, her sisters convinced her to take a pregnancy test provided by mom Michelle Duggar, while she and Derick were visiting. That test was the one to confirm the pregnancy.
“It was surreal,” Derick said. “We were shocked. Both of us are so excited.”
The couple took a vow to accept any and all children that God chose to bless them with; now, eight weeks into their marriage, they are accepting their first. Both have said that they wanted a large family – and both come from big family backgrounds as well. It was a moment for the entire Duggar family to celebrate.
“About 30 days after Jill and Derick got married, they gathered everyone in the living room and shared the news,” Jim Bob said. “Everyone was clapping and cheering, and we were in shock, too.”
Michelle and Jim Bob are the parents of a super-sized family, and they have passed on those values to their children. Oldest son Josh has three children with wife Anna – they took the same vow to accept any and all children given them by God. Now that daughter Jessa is engaged, another Duggar wedding is already in the works, and it could be a short time before there is another Duggar grandbaby on the way.
While the Duggars are often criticized for their pro-life views, the family was thrilled about the news of another baby. Jill and Derrick were married on June 21st in Springdale, Arkansas in front of 1,000 guests, including family and friends. The young couple met through Jill’s father, and their wedding will air on TLC on September 2nd.
However, even in a society that’s supposed to “co-exist” with what everyone believes, some are not very accepting of the Duggars way of life. “Clearly, it’s reached freak show status or TLC wouldn’t be documenting the trials, chaos, and certainly cooperation and love of this ginormous family,” said Allison Enstrom from MSN TV. Others have even suggested that Jim Bob should be castrated so Michelle won’t get pregnant again.

In 2013, Jim Bob Duggar was slammed for stating that abortion is the baby holocaust during the Research Council’s Values Voter Summit. After the event, RH Reality Check, a pro-abortion website, asked their constituents to tell TLC to cancel their television show because of his comment. In other words, we have to accept the killing of millions of babies, but not the pro-life values of the Duggar family. It seems like abortion supporters are only tolerant when people agree with their radical agenda. Thankfully, Jill and Derrick aren’t too concerned with what people think, but only time will tell if they will be criticized as harshly as their parents. Their baby is due in March.
