As the survivor of a failed abortion attempt in the U.S. in 1977, Melissa Ohden now puts a face to abortion around the world, and gives a voice to the unborn children who lose their lives to abortion every day. The portion of Melissa’s medical records explain that a “saline infusion for an abortion was done but unsuccessful” which resulted in her birth.

Now, Melissa is a well-known pro-life advocate, speaker, and a writer for LifeNews.com.

When we talk about abortion, we normally speak in terms of the baby who was aborted. We often forget abortion’s impact on future generations. But, had Melissa been successfully aborted, not only would the world have lost her and her joy, but it would have been missing out on this new baby.

This week, Melissa gave birth to another daughter, who is already putting a smile on many faces.

“We are grateful to share that Ava Leigh (weighing 7 lbs. 3 oz., 20 1/2 inches long), graced us with her birth today. We are all doing well and overjoyed to be so blessed,” Melissa posted on Facebook.

Welcome little Ava Leigh. We’re glad you and your Mommy are here with us and your lives are valuable!
