You’ve heard the pro-abortion criticism before. The canard goes something like this: “Well if you’re so pro-life why don’t you adopt all of the unwanted children?”

jonesafricaadoptionIt’s a silly pro-abortion argument that doesn’t account for the reality that pro-life people are some of the most loving and selfless people in the world — so selfless, in this case, that they were willing to adopt eight children from an orphanage in Africa.

Tennessee couple Hayley and Mike Jones planned to adopt but didn’t know their then-family-of-four would grow so large.

“I think that we always knew that we wanted to adopt. Even when we were dating, we had talked about adopting. We were thinking about one child, a little boy from Africa. It was just something that has always been on our hearts; and then, once we got married and it was time to start pursuing that, it ended up being more than one child,” Hayley Jones told the Daily Mail.

The couple took as their own from an African orphanage a total of eight biological siblings — seven boys and one girl — between the ages of five jonesafricaadoption2and 16.

“Our eight new kids were always destined to be a part of our family, it just took us a little while to find them. Now our family has tripled in size and happiness,” Jones said.

“God was telling us both separately to keep going for more and more — it was just brought up that there was a sibling group of six and eight,” Jones said. “It’s like I got hit in the head with a hammer; I didn’t know anything about them but I knew we were meant to adopt them,” he said. “You can’t love on each one of them enough. They bring us a lot of joy.”
