When pro-life activists showed up for their shifts on Thursday, May 8th at the South Wind Women’s Center in Wichita, Kansas, they were in for a smelly surprise. Someone poured a runny mixture of cow manure on the ground where the sidewalk counselors gather to offer help to abortion-bound women.

cowmanureMark Gietzen of the Kansas Coalition for Life, which coordinates volunteer shifts outside the South Wind abortion clinic, stated, “On Thursday, we were greeted with about 2 gallons of fresh, smelly, runny, cow manure, dumped on the ground where we set the table, and more where we set the large sign. The Wichita Haz-Mat Unit (Hazardous Materials Unit) found a person inside the abortion facility who admitted to dumping it. She claimed, only to fertilize the grass in those two areas on city property.”

Apparently the stench was tremendous, but did not dissuade the pro-life activists from continuing to minister to women throughout the day.

“In my opinion, it shows that our presence on-site is a real problem for them, and illustrates the complete lack of professionalism and decency of those who kill unborn children on the inside,” said Geitzen.

“Spreading the manure was a childish prank on the part of the South Wind crew, but we have come to expect little else from these people than immaturity and vulgarity,” said Troy Newman, president of Operation Rescue, which is headquartered in Wichita. “Certainly if a person identifying as pro-life had pulled such a stunt, that person would have been incarcerated. This is a double standard that only encourages violence against peaceful pro-life supporters.”

A recent column by Jill Stanek about the clinic’s only abortionist, Cheryl Chastine, and her foul-mouthed Twitter rants illustrates the level of vulgarity embraced by South Wind employees. Read Stanek’s column.

Chastine flies to Wichita weekly to do abortions at South Wind, which is located in the same building that once housed George Tiller’s infamous late-term abortion clinic.

“The abortion crowd is desperate. They know they are losing and it is only a matter of time before the American public rejects their bloody business and outlaws abortion for good,” said Newman. “But if they think this kind of vulgar harassment is going to run off those who are committed to saving lives, they are sadly mistaken.”
